These Terms of Service govern your use of the website operated by JOLISZT LLC and your engagement of the notation and score-preparation services offered from our desk. Our registered organization details are JOLISZT LLC, 932 Coyote Cir, North Salt Lake - 84054-3024, United States (US), and we can be reached at team@joliszt.autos or by telephone at +14092944373.
Please read these terms carefully before using the site or commissioning any work. By browsing the site, submitting a form, sending a manuscript or engaging us for a project, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or the services.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the website of JOLISZT LLC or by engaging the studio for any of its six working volumes of service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms of Service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and JOLISZT LLC, whose registered details are 932 Coyote Cir, North Salt Lake - 84054-3024, United States (US).
If you are agreeing on behalf of an organization, such as a school, an ensemble or a publisher, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization, and the words you and your refer to that organization. If you do not accept these terms, you should not use the site and should not commission work from the desk.
Who May Use the Services
Our services are intended for teachers, ensembles, librarians, small publishers and other professionals who need notation and score-preparation work. You must be at least the age required to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, in order to engage the studio directly.
We reserve the right to decline a project or to stop providing services to any person or organization at our discretion, particularly where a request appears unlawful, infringing or contrary to the standards described in these terms. Where we decline a request, we will explain the reason in plain language where it is appropriate to do so.
Description of Services
JOLISZT LLC provides six core services: Manuscript Engraving, Score Editing and Cleanup, Part Extraction for Ensembles, Transposition Services, Exam Syllabus Editions and Archive Digitization. Each service is described on our services page and may be commissioned alone or combined into a single project.
The scope of any project is confirmed in writing before work begins. Any task not expressly included in that confirmation is outside the project and may require a separate order. We describe our services in good faith, but we do not warrant that a particular result will satisfy every expectation that is not recorded in the agreed scope.
Because notation work is exacting, we keep a living record of every decision made on a project, from the choice of a key to the placement of a page turn. That record lets us answer follow-up questions months or years later and lets a returning client pick up exactly where the last edition ended. When you request a service, we will explain what the output will contain and what it will not, so that there is no gap between expectation and delivery.
Client Responsibilities
You agree to provide source material that is complete and legible, to specify clearly what you need, and to respond to queries from the desk within a reasonable time. Delays in providing information, approvals or source files may extend the timeline of a project, and we are not responsible for consequences that flow from such delays.
You also agree to keep your contact details accurate so that we can reach you about a project, and to review proofs when they are sent. If you engage us on behalf of a school or ensemble, you are responsible for obtaining any permissions that the organization or the law requires for the material you ask us to process.
Clear instructions save time and reduce cost. Where possible, tell us the intended instrument, the reading level, the key and the format you need, and note any deadline that matters. If your source is a photograph, a sharp and even image is far more useful than a hurried one. The more precise your brief, the closer the first proof will sit to the edition you have in mind.
Manuscript and Source Material
You retain ownership of the manuscripts, sketches, scans and other source material you send to the desk. By sending that material, you grant JOLISZT LLC a limited license to use it solely for the purpose of performing the service you have requested and for maintaining the records needed to support that service.
We treat score material as confidential and do not publish, resell or distribute it. You confirm that you have the right to send the material and that doing so does not infringe the rights of any third party. If a source file must be returned or deleted after delivery, you may request this in writing and we will confirm when the action has been completed.
Intellectual Property and Ownership
Once a project is complete and any agreed fees are paid, you receive the rights to the engraved output that we have produced for you, to the extent permitted by law and subject to any rights held by original composers, authors or publishers in the underlying work. JOLISZT LLC retains no ongoing claim over your finished edition beyond the right to keep ordinary project records.
The design, text, layout and code of this website remain the property of JOLISZT LLC or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of the site itself or of any tool or template that the studio uses in its internal work.
If a project produces a template, a house style or a reusable house font setting, that internal material remains with the studio even though your engraved edition is yours. We make this distinction so that we can keep serving many clients with a consistent standard without giving away the methods that make the standard possible. Your finished pages, however, are yours to print, share and perform as your rights in the underlying music allow.
Quotations, Orders and Payment
Quotations are based on the information available at the time and may change if the source material or the scope turns out to be different from what was described. A project is confirmed only when you accept the quotation in writing and, where required, pay any deposit that we specify.
Unless we agree otherwise, fees are payable in the currency and by the method stated in the quotation. Invoices are due within the period shown on the invoice. We may pause work on an account that is overdue, and we may charge reasonable costs for recovering a debt where the law allows. All fees are exclusive of any taxes that may apply.
Revisions and Proof Approval
Every project includes the proof pass described in our process. We send a proof or a preview for your review, and you may request corrections that fall within the agreed scope. We will address genuine errors and omissions promptly and without additional charge.
Requests that change the scope, such as a new arrangement, a different key or a major layout rework, may be treated as a new order and may carry an additional fee. Once you approve a proof, the edition is treated as final for that stage, and later changes may be handled as a fresh revision.
Delivery and Timelines
Delivery dates are estimates given in good faith and depend on the complexity of the work, the accuracy of the source and your own timely responses. We will tell you if a deadline is at risk and will propose a revised date where possible. Time is not of the essence unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Files are delivered in the format agreed in the quotation. Once a delivery is made, it is your responsibility to download, store and back up the files. We keep records to support follow-up work, but we do not guarantee indefinite storage of any particular file beyond the retention described in our Privacy Policy.
If a deadline is central to your project, tell us at the outset so that we can plan around it. Rush work can sometimes be arranged, but we prefer to move at a pace that keeps the engraving accurate rather than hurried. A page that is set carefully at the first pass will always read better under the pressure of a rehearsal than one that was rushed to meet an artificial date.
Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel a project by written notice. If work has already begun, you remain responsible for the value of the work completed up to the point of cancellation, including any time and resources already committed to your project. Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has started, except where the law requires otherwise.
If we are unable to complete a project for our own reasons, we will refund any amount paid for work not yet performed. Refunds are issued by the same method used for payment unless we agree on another method. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable right you hold as a consumer.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the site or the services for any unlawful purpose, to submit material you do not have the right to share, to attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our systems, or to misuse the desk in a way that harms the studio or another person. You also agree not to present our output as the work of another engraver in a manner that misleads a client or a rights holder.
We may suspend or end access to the site or the services if we reasonably believe that a person has breached these terms. Where a suspension affects an ongoing project, we will try to resolve the matter fairly and to explain our decision.
Third Party and Copyright Material
Many scores are protected by copyright held by composers, arrangers, publishers or other rights holders. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the right to reproduce, edit, transpose or distribute any work you send to the desk. We may ask for evidence of your right to proceed, particularly for well-known published works.
We will not knowingly assist with a project that infringes the rights of a third party. If we become aware that material is being used without permission, we may pause or decline the work and explain the reason. You agree to indemnify JOLISZT LLC against claims that arise from material you supplied without the necessary rights.
A public domain work can often be used freely, but a specific edition of that work may still carry its own copyright in the editorial additions, such as fingering, phrasing and layout. We will help you tell the difference where we can, and we will flag a concern early in a project rather than late. If a rights holder grants you permission, please share that confirmation with the desk so that it can be kept with the project record.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The site and the services are provided on an as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, JOLISZT LLC disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or free of error.
We do warrant that we will perform our services with reasonable care and skill. If a defect in our work is reported within a reasonable time, we will correct it as described in the revisions section. This warranty is the main remedy we offer for a problem with the quality of our work, and it does not limit any right you hold under mandatory law.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JOLISZT LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of profit, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising from the use of the site or the services. Our total liability for any claim relating to a project will not exceed the total fees you paid to us for that project.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and the remaining parts will continue in force.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JOLISZT LLC, its members, employees and contractors against any claim, loss, liability or expense that arises from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site or the services, or material you supplied that infringes the rights of a third party.
This obligation survives the end of your relationship with the studio. We will notify you of any such claim and will cooperate reasonably in the defense, and you agree to reimburse the reasonable costs of responding to a claim that falls within this section.
Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which JOLISZT LLC is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in that place, unless a mandatory law gives you the right to proceed elsewhere.
Before starting a formal step, we ask that you contact us at team@joliszt.autos so that we can attempt to resolve the matter directly. Many concerns can be settled quickly through an honest conversation, and we prefer that route whenever it is possible.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services or the law. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice on the site.
Your continued use of the site or engagement of the desk after a change takes effect means that you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the site and should settle any outstanding project under the version that applied when it began.
Contact and General Provisions
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the smallest extent necessary, and the remaining parts will stay in force. Our failure to enforce a right on one occasion does not waive that right on another. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written project confirmation, form the entire agreement between you and the studio.
Questions about these terms may be sent to team@joliszt.autos, by telephone to +14092944373, or by post to JOLISZT LLC, 932 Coyote Cir, North Salt Lake - 84054-3024, United States (US). We are glad to clarify how the desk works before you commission any work, because a clear agreement at the start keeps every note readable at the end.
